EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION COOLER （EGR cooler）- square style
The square style uses more of a "radiator" style of channels and fins. It’s for 2005 model or newer.
The principle of EGR is that a controllable proportion of the exhaust gas is recirculated back into the engine. Its purpose is to cool down the exhaust gas before they are returned into the engine to reduce NOx values further more.
